The south bank route

London Bridge is about 8 miles east of Putney. The usual route stays south of the river, through Wandsworth and Battersea to Vauxhall, then on past Lambeth and through Southwark to the station. London Bridge is inside the Congestion Charge zone, so ask about the charge if you travel during charging hours.

Trains from London Bridge

The rebuilt station handles Thameslink trains to Brighton, Gatwick, Luton Airport Parkway, Bedford and Cambridge, Southern services to Sussex and Surrey, and Southeastern trains to Kent and south-east London. The Northern and Jubilee lines run underneath.

The Shard, Borough Market and the City

London Bridge is also a popular drop-off for The Shard, Borough Market, Guy's Hospital and offices across the river in the City. If you're heading to a specific building, give us the address and we'll take you to the door rather than the station.

London Bridge to Putney

Finishing work late in the City or getting off a train from the coast, a London Bridge to Putney taxi takes you straight home along the south bank. Book with your time and we'll be there. Heading to an airport from the City? See Putney to London City Airport. Other stations: Waterloo and Charing Cross. Living in Battersea? The same route passes your door.

Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast and More London

A short walk east of the station, the riverside around More London leads to Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast, with offices and restaurants along the way. Many visitors use London Bridge station as the meeting point before walking along the river, and it's an easy place for a driver to find you afterwards.

Late finishes in the City

The City of London is just across the bridge, and late meetings or client dinners often end after the trains have thinned out. We collect from offices in the City as well as from the station, and businesses that book regularly can open a corporate account and pay on invoice.

Bermondsey and Guy's Hospital

Just south and east of the station, Bermondsey Street is lined with restaurants, galleries and the Fashion and Textile Museum, and weekend food markets draw crowds nearby. Guy's Hospital sits right beside London Bridge station, so we often take patients and visitors to appointments there. For hospital trips, tell us which building or entrance you need and book the return at the same time, and for evenings in Bermondsey, agree a pickup point on a quieter side street.

Southwark Cathedral and Bankside

Next to Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral is one of London's oldest Gothic churches, and from there the Thames Path leads west along Bankside to Shakespeare's Globe and Tate Modern. It's a classic London walk, and London Bridge station makes an easy start or finish. If you'd like to be dropped at the Globe or Tate Modern instead of the station, just give us the address.
